This is a painting that often attracts attention because of the starkness of the winter trees. The play of shadows on the lane takes you on and down. The view just round the corner can be seen in 'Kettlewell and Wharfedale' and the journey from Coverdale to this point can also be seen in 'Approaching Wharfedale' and 'Wending Ways'.
