This is one of my all time favourite paintings.  It is a view of Muker in Swaledale and is absolutely typical of the Dales' landscape.  My son and I had been walking along by the river before climbing the hillside.  It had been an overcast, wet day and then, as we came to the brow of the hill the sun came out.
